It is my honor to feature LEAH today!

Leah turned 55 years old this past November, this is a milestone she wanted to celebrate for how gracefully she’s aged. She is a single mother of 3 grown children and is proud that she raised them well. Her children are her treasures that money can’t buy. She works as a retirement specialist with the Department of Navy which services federal employees all over the world. At 55, she became a homeowner, she knows that this is an accomplishment and one she is proud of. She is an empty-nester since her children are grown but her 87-year-old ex-mother-in-law lives with her. She was her helpmate raising her children and she is the wind beneath her wings. Her mother-in-law has dementia and Leah is her caregiver now. She believes this is her way of giving back for all the love and care she has showered throughout these years! Leah rose above the trials and tribulations of life because she believed that God had better plans for all of them. She is surrounded by God believing and fearing friends. She spends her free time gardening, traveling, and taking pictures of anything beautiful. When it comes to challenges, she doesn’t easily give up. She knows that she is strong because she was never given a choice to give up.

Leah values and enjoys spending time with her mom and just lives life without worrying about tomorrow. Her friends and family members know she has no filter.

Leah’s plans for her future include being able to volunteer and provide community services for those in need.

A myth she’d like to bust about being over 40 is, “You are never too old to feel beautiful.”

A piece of advice she has for the younger generation is, “You have to believe in yourself.”

Leah came to have this photo session to showcase who she is now and to share how life can be beautiful when you are yourself. I can’t thank you enough for allowing me the opportunity to capture this season of your life, thank you for sharing your story. It was an honor to help you create these images of you, images that reflect how joyous and beautiful you are.

Much love,

Tamara
