I love sharing a little bit of every woman participating in my 40 over 40 special edition photo sessions. Today I’m featuring Shauna.

Shauna, share a little bit about yourself.

I am 44 years old, a mother to four wonderful kids, and I’m separated. I’m also an LPN in school to become an RN, and I plan to obtain my NP after that.

What have been some significant points of change in your life so far? How did those important points change you?

I will have to say separation. It improved me, but I feel like I am more antisocial now and even less trusting than before.

Have your values changed over time? What do you value now?

I feel like my values are basically the same. I have always valued family the most.

What’s something fun you’ve checked off your bucket list?

Parasailing, that was fun!

Is there a myth you’d like to bust about being a woman over 40?

I don't know any myths about being over 40. You are as young as you feel!

What’s a piece of you have for the younger generation?

Get your goals accomplished now so you don't have to work hard later.

This photo session was something Shauna had been wanting to do for herself. She said to me, “Hopefully these images will put a smile on my face that reaches my eyes.”
